PM Hovik Abrahamyan’s Victory and Peace Day-Dated Congratulatory Message
Dear compatriots,
I cordially congratulate you on the Day of Victory and Peace. 71 years have elapsed since the victory over fascism in World War II and 24 years since the liberation of Shushi. This holiday symbolizes the unity of the Armenian people in the name of peace, creativity, consolidation and ever new victories.
Great is the contribution of the Armenian people to the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War. We are proud to remember those hundreds of thousands of Armenians who sacrificed their lives to forge a great victory over xenophobia, violence and aggression.
Through joint effort, the Armenian nation was able to reinstate historical justice by liberating our age-old cultural capital Shushi in 1992. Our people stood up to fight for the freedom and self-determination of Artsakh, preventing the threat of genocide, which was impending over the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. The victory in this war reaffirmed our people’s everlasting indomitable spirit and firm determination.
We are proud that the Armenian soldiers are standing confidently on the frontline, honoring their duty and safeguarding the peoples of Armenia, Artsakh and the whole nation.
Glorifying our fallen heroes, I would like to reiterate my congratulations on those glorious victories, and wish robust health, new achievements and a peaceful sky to Great Patriotic War veterans, Shushi freedom-fighters and today’s heroes.
