PM Receives Chief Commercial Director of Qatar Airways
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by Chief Commercial Director of Qatar Airways Hugh Danlevi.
Welcoming and appreciating the entry of Qatar Airways into Armenia’s aviation market, the Prime Minister said it will promote economic cooperation between Armenia and Qatar, including tourism industry.
Noting that our country liberalized the aviation sector in 2013, Hovik Abrahamyan said the Government of Armenia has amended the legislative framework with more than 20 countries. The revision of the relevant agreement with the People’s Republic of China is to be completed in the near future. Discussions are underway on Armenia’s accession to the EU Common Aviation Area.
In turn, Hugh Danlevi thanked the Government of the Republic of Armenia for support and cooperation, noting that Qatar Airways is ready to implement four Doha-Yerevan-Doha flights a week, which will connect Armenia with over 150 cities around the world. Hugh Danlevi said they are willing to expand the company’s activities in the near future to help develop a long-term mutually beneficial cooperation between Armenia and Qatar.
