Youth Foundation Board of Trustees Holds Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the Armenian Youth Foundation Board of Trustees (YAF) met today in the Office of Government. As first issue on the agenda, the meeting discussed and approved the annual report of YAF activities in 2015.
YAF Executive Director Alexander Ter-Hovakimyan reported that the Foundation implemented around 330 programs in the reporting year, including a program of tuition compensation, which benefited to a total of about 900 students. 316 students from border communities were said to have been beneficiaries for the first time.
Under the program of support for young researchers, the Foundation funded 56 applications for participation in international scientific conferences, 25 applications for the purchase of materials and equipment for scientific research, 5 applications for the printing of books. 149 beneficiaries received the reward for published articles in international journals. Extensive work was said complete in the areas of sport, health, employment and socio-economic field.
The Board of Trustees discussed and approved the YAF budget for the year 2016 and the conclusion of the auditing organization on the financial statements for 2015. In conclusion, the Board approved the procedure to follow in granting scholarships in the non-competitive manner to such students in Armenia’s higher educational institutions as have not been included in the free system of education.
