Government Holds Consultation on Educational Reform


Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan held a consultative a meeting on challenges faced in the sphere of public education and educational reform.

Note that at the Cabinet meeting of July 7, 2016, the Prime Minister told the Minister of Education and Science to organize consultations on general education-related issues and higher education reform agenda in order to develop proposals on relevant roadmap changes.

The Premier was informed that on the basis of expert discussions and proposals, a package of complex amendments had been drafted to ensure the quality, effectiveness and accessibility of education. During the exchange of views that followed the meeting discussed the proposed amendments.

Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out that the reform of the educational system is a top priority. Affordable and competitive educational programs have to be developed in parallel to reconsidering the applicable legislative framework, if necessary.
