PM Attends 5th International Pantomime Theaters Festival Opening
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended today the opening of the 5th International Festival of Pantomime Theaters after Leonid Yengibaryan in Tsakhkadzor. Held under the high patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the festival involves troupes from Armenia, Russia, South Africa, Iran, Ukraine and Georgia. As a special guest, the event was attended by professor at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatrical Arts, author of several pantomime-related books and articles Elena Markova.
Held under the motto of “Theater facing the street, the viewer,” the festival will feature free performances in the open air and master classes by pantomime specialists. The specialists will also conduct master classes in dance pantomime.
The festival is meant to promote collaboration between theatrical and cultural international organizations and participation in theatrical events worldwide, as well as to ensure the availability of best experience in pantomime for Armenian and foreign audiences. The festival will be open until this August 15.
