“Children are our greatest asset. Therefore, ensuring safe and decent childhood for them is a top priority of ours. Invaluable is your fight against child hunger and the efforts aimed at providing nutrition for children. Noting that the School Nutrition program covers all the regions of the Republic of Armenia, except Yerevan, the Prime Minister stressed that the visits to schools to be paid the framework of the Forum will help the participants learn about the Armenia experience.

“The School Nutrition program has been a priority to the Government for the past seven years. We have been implementing the program consistently and progressively, based on the expertise of the UN World Food Program and the Russian Federation’s Food Industry Institute. To ensure the program’s continuity and effectiveness, the Government is planning to adopt a number of institutional decisions, as well as to take initiatives for improving the legal framework,” Hovik Abrahamyan said. Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister once again welcomed the participants and wished them productive work.

“I hope that the forum will give the opportunity to forward your know-how through experience sharing, as well as transfer your child nutrition practices, which in turn will help further our cooperation. I also hope that you will get to learn about our country and culture. I wish you all fruitful work. Welcome to Armenia.”
