Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Executive Director of VimpelCom Group telecommunications company Jean-Yves Charlier and his delegation.

Stressing the importance of continued advancement of information and telecommunication industries in Armenia, the Premier noted that his government is working on a new package of development of this industry. Karen Karapetyan also said that the Government is prepared to discuss with VimpelCom Group different initiatives and proposals aimed at expanding the company’s commitments in Armenia.

Jean-Yves Charlier said that VimpelCom Group has a long-term program of activities in Armenia and is prepared to carry out large-scale investment projects. According to him, the investment projects will be aimed at optimizing services in fixed and mobile networks and the modernization of infrastructures.

Welcoming the initiative, the Prime Minister urged the guests to submit to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology their ICT sector development-oriented proposals and expectations from the Government.
