GoA-WB Cooperation Prospects Discussed
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Müller.
Appreciative of the World Bank’s financial and technical assistance provided to our country, the Prime Minister said the Armenian Government is keen to deepen cooperation and enhance the efficiency and targeting of programs.
Karen Karapetyan suggested considering the possibility of the World Bank’s involvement in the activities related to the reform of public administration and the newly established Center for Strategic Initiatives.
Cyril Müller described as quite effective the ongoing cooperation with the Armenian partners and expressed readiness on behalf of the World Bank to cooperate closely with the Government in a bid to push ahead with the reforms and achieve the proposed priorities, as well as to develop small and medium-size enterprise.
As to the efforts aimed at improving the business environment, Karen Karapetyan said his government firmly determined to create a transparent competitive field as there is no other way to progress. The Premier noted that he saw Armenia’s economic development in the context of effective regional cooperation.
