Karen Karapetyan: “We need to give new impetus to Noravank. We have to think how to get a practical effect”
Chaired by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, Noravank scientific-educational foundation (SEF) Board of Trustees held a regular meeting in the Office of Government.
The meeting first heard the Foundation’s 2016 performance report. SEF Executive Director Gagik Harutyunyan noted that in collaboration with partners from the public and private sectors, work was done to enhance information security; an information security manual and a dictionary were developed involving experts from Armenia, Artsakh and foreign countries, a number of books and magazines published in 2016.
Efforts were made together with the Ministry of Diaspora to launch an online Armenia-Diaspora University, discussions, conferences and other events were organized. As Gagik Harutyunyan noted, the University should serve as a platform for the discussion of matters of public safety. Efforts in this direction will be continued in 2017.
Stressing the importance of Noravank Foundation’s activities, the Prime Minister highlighted the need to tap the full potential of research personnel. ““We need to give new impetus to Noravank. We have to think of how to get a practical effect.”
In this context, the Premier suggested that Noravank Foundation should collaborate with the Center for Strategic Initiatives in order to discuss and develop new priorities.
