Technical Characteristics for Implementation of RA Base Geo-Information System Introduction Program Submitted to Government
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan held a consultative meeting, at which the Technical Characteristics for Implementation of RA Base Geo-Information System Introduction Program (hereinafter Characteristics) was submitted to the Government in accordance with the Prime Minister’s assignment. It describes the general requirements, as well as the work to be done in stages.
It was reported that the characteristics was developed following consultations between the State Committee on Immovable Property Cadastre by the Government and the leadership of a number of geographic information system beneficiary agencies and linear infrastructure-running companies, as well as based on the working group’s professional discussions. After the presentation, the stakeholders’ representatives came up with comments and suggestions to be further discussed and eventually accepted within the framework of the working groups.
It was proposed to begin with Yerevan, by expanding the capabilities of the Committee’s geo-portal and creating separate layers for linear infrastructures, downloading CPA-collected data on linear infrastructure and providing linear infrastructure-running entities with the possibility of online viewing.
Highlighting the base geo-information system’s importance, Prime Minister Karapetyan instructed those responsible to sum up the proposals and recommendations voiced at the meeting and report back the results within the shortest possible time frames.
