PM Receives European Investment Bank Vice President
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Vazil Hudák. The meeting was attended by Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Peter Switalski.
Welcoming the guests, the Prime Minister said to be highly appreciative of the ongoing cooperation aimed at implementing joint projects in energy, transport, agriculture and tourism sectors.
The Premier highlighted EIB’s collaboration with the private sector in Armenia, noting that his government is abiding by a clear-cut policy of comprehensive reform. “Our efforts aim to provide a better, predictable and transparent environment for business,” Karen Karapetyan said.
Vazil Hudák stressed that the EIB is interested in continued cooperation with the Government of Armenia in all directions. Projects will be implemented for the business sector with a special focus on individual communities. Mr Hudák advised that fruitful discussions on the matter had been held with the heads of responsible government departments.
Welcoming the Bank’s readiness for close cooperation, Karen Karapetyan stressed that the Government is set for drastic reforms in the field of local governance with a view to improving the efficiency and transparency of public services, attracting private investors and so on.
