Karen Karapetyan Meets with Members of Turkmen Government in Ashgabat
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, who is paying an official visit to Turkmenistan, met with the members of Turkmen government in Ashgabat, headed by Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers Dadebay Amangeldiyev.
The parties expressed confidence that the proposals formulated by the Armenian side have great prospects and can provide incentives for the furtherance and strengthening of bilateral economic ties. The sides stressed that constructive cooperation, including the active efforts of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission, will help boost and deepen bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister of Armenia and the Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of joint projects in energy, transport, information technology, agriculture, jewelry, air communications and tourism sectors, as well as the need to make intensive efforts towards implementation of the agreements reached so far with the participation of relevant sectors’ representatives.
The Turkmen side expressed interest in arranging the import of Armenian goods, organizing air communications, using the Yerevan airport as a transit zone, building refueling gas stations etc.
The Armenian Premier said to have held constructive and fruitful talks with the President of Turkmenistan and expressed the hope that the talks will give new impetus and a new quality to bilateral relations. “We discussed various issues of mutual interest. I must state that the effective use of the existing potential in bilateral relations may have great prospects,” Karen Karapetyan emphasized.
