Prime Minister Briefed on Rose Cultivating Company’s Investment Program
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan visited Ecotomato CJSC rose growing greenhouse in Goght village of Kotayk Marz.
The Prime Minister toured the greenhouses made of aluminum and special glass, inspecting the ongoing activities and development programs.
The greenhouses are equipped with modern technologies of Dalsem Dutch Company, including assimilation lighting control and automatic climate control systems. 80% of the output is exported to Russia, Belarus and Georgia.
Ecotomoato us expected to export about 22 million roses this year. In 2017, the Company is going to expand additional 15 hectares of greenhouse based on 20 hectares with an investment of about USD 30 million.
Efforts are underway to master the oriental markets, including the UAE, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The company currently employs 200 people. The new investment program will help increase the number of jobs by 200.
The Prime Minister welcomed the Company’s expansion plans and highlighted the increase in export activities.
Karen Karapetyan also called at the art school in Garni to get acquainted with its activities. Children from Garni and surrounding communities have access to education: painting, ceramics, design, sculpture sections. There are also chess and computer training classes.
