Government Discusses Activities Aimed at Import Substitution
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan held a consultative meeting to discuss issues related to the development of local industries. The Premier was briefed on the activities aimed at substituting imports with domestic production. Experts were said working to identify the range of products that can be manufactured locally instead of importing them from abroad.
It was suggested to create a platform where local producers will be able to come together and contact their consumers. Noting that the issue should be taken seriously, the Prime Minister called for consistent focus and increased attention.
“We need to find a smart solution that will not impair competition, but we have enough local capacity and should help our prospective farmers to develop and boost their exports,” Karen Karapetyan said.
