Government Discusses Issues of Improving Anti-Hail Protection Effectiveness
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan called a consultative meeting to discuss issues related to the establishment of a more effective system of anti-hail protection in Armenia.
Introducing the findings of a research conducted to this end, Minister of Emergency Situations David Tonoyan said the launch of a complementary anti-hail system is under consideration: along with the current gas-generator model, a system of missile and network protection will be created to provide for even more effective prevention. Based on the results of the research, a map has been developed for installation of radar and rocket launchers, and a cost estimate has been made to that effect.
David Tonoyan suggested starting a pilot program in Aragatsotn and Lori Marzes of Armenia, under which the existing radar stations will be refurbished in the first stage. Prime Minister Karapetyan ordered to start the pilot program and, at the same time, look into the efficiency and cost of the network system protection.
