Karen Karapetyan Receives Director of the Office of Secretary General of La Francophonie
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Director of the Office of the Secretary General of La Francophonie Jean-Louis Atangana Amougou.
Noting the importance of developing cooperation with the International Organization of Francophonie and Member States, the Prime Minister touched upon the ongoing preparations for the 17th summit of Heads of La Francophonie Member States and governments to be held next year in Armenia.
Karen Karapetyan advised that a Prime Minister-headed interdepartmental commission and a working group in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been set up to coordinate the preparations for the Summit and went on to assure that the Government of the Republic of Armenia will do its utmost to organize the event at a high level. The Premier pointed out that the Summit may become a solid platform for discussion of issues and programs aimed at the furtherance of cooperation between the Member States.
Jean-Louis Atangana Amougou hailed Armenia’s close cooperation with the International Organization of Francophonie and expressed confidence that the Summit will be organized in the best possible manner in our country.
The Director of the Office of the Secretary General of La Francophonie emphasized with satisfaction that he was impressed by the progress in the preparations for the event and noted that the Armenia Summit might become a holiday for the members of the Francophonie family.
