“Not only did the system of real estate cadastre grow into a well-organized institution, but it also achieved significant success” - PM Attends Gala Event on 20th Anniversary of Cadastre System

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan participated in a festive event on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the State Committee on Immovable Property Cadastre by the Government of the Republic of Armenia (SCIPC) and Land Surveyor’s Day.

Offering his congratulations, the Prime Minister stated in part, “The cadastre system is a vital necessity for us from the point of view of providing strong and understandable mechanisms and protecting the citizen’s right to property. Looking back at the 20-year-long history of creation and establishment of the system, we can state that Not only did the system of real estate cadastre grow into a well-organized institution, but it also achieved significant success. Most of the system’s database and services are digitized, which significantly increases its efficiency and stability and makes it possible to minimize the time spent for providing services.

We can state today that our cadastre system has all the necessary prerequisites to be on par with the best European structures, and one of the proofs of this is that the working group on land management of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe recognized the Armenian model of cadastre management as exemplary for transition countries, as well as the fact that according to the World Bank’s Doing Business report, Armenia has always been at the forefront among 183 countries of the world through the Registering Property accessibility index. In the program of the Government, we envisaged a number of important measures that we need to implement in order to make the cadastre system more modern and effective and ensure the consonance of cadastre services with the best international standards.

I am confident that we have all the necessary prerequisites for this. Moreover, considering those technological solutions already implemented in the system, I think that this structure can become a benchmark in the implementation and application of the latest technologies by governing agencies. And we expect from you such bold steps in the near future. Once again, I want to congratulate you and wish you productive work. "

On behalf of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister Karapetyan presented awards to a group of employees of the State Committee on Immovable Property Cadastre by the Government. In accordance with a presidential decree, for conscientious and efficient work, SCIPS Deputy Chairman Narek Grigoryan and Head of Control Department Arsen Bidzyan were awarded the Medal of Gratitude.

On the occasion of the Day of Land Surveyor, as well as the 20th anniversary of the State Committee on Immovable Property Cadastre by the Government SCIPS Deputy Chairman Arman Petrosyan and Chief of Staff Vardan Hasratyan were awarded a commemorative medal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Head of Financial-Economics Department Artur Tovmasyan and Head of Control Department’s Functionality Surveillance Unit Arman Osikyan were presented with the Prime Minister’s appreciation letters.
