Armenian-Russian Emergency Situations-Targeted Cooperation Discussed
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received today International Civil Defense Organization Secretary-General Vladimir Kuvshinov and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Oleg Bazhenov. They are in Armenia to attend a session of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center Governing Council.
Pleased with the current status of bilateral cooperation in the field of emergency situations and, in that context, the activities of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center, Prime Minister Karapetyan highlighted the need for continued deepening and development of interaction.
Describing as quite effective the ongoing cooperation with the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, Vladimir Kuvshinov and Oleg Bajenov presented the results of today’s discussions. In particular, the forum was said to have outlined the main directions and activities that should serve as a guideline for the development of the Armenian-Russian rescue cooperation - training of rescue forces, exchange of experience and experts, modernization, refurbishment and so on.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects for the activities of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center and the refurbishment of the Crisis Management Center. Both sides emphasized that the further expansion of the unique in the region Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center would enable humanitarian response at the interregional level.
