PM receives representatives of IT companies that have initiated an investment project in Armenia

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received today the representatives of IT companies that have initiated an investment project in Armenia – IDS Vice President Alberico Parente and TDS founder Vahan Shakaryan.

On July 14, 2017, the companies announced the launch of cooperation with a view to making an investment of € 10 million to set up a research lab and a new branch of forensic IT technology in Armenia.

Prime Minister Karapetyan welcomed and hailed the initiative of implementing an investment project in Armenia’s IT sector, assuring that the Government will be a reliable partner for the Italian company and foreign investors, in general.

The Deputy Director of IDS Company thanked the Prime Minister for support and appreciated the contribution made by the Armenian Development Fund. Emphasizing that there are good reasons for doing research in Armenia, Alberico Panente noted that at the initial stage his company intends to make investments in the field of forensic research, but they are not going to stop there.

Vahan Shakaryan and Alberico Parente provided details of the proposed investment program. The project will be implemented over a period of 5 years that will lead to the establishment of a standalone research center in Armenia. The deal was agreed upon at the first session of the Armenian-Italian intergovernmental commission and the Armenian-Italian business forum.
