Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan Familiarized with ADF Programs

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan called at the Armenian Development Fund (ADF) to get acquainted with the Fund’s ongoing programs.

Introducing to the Prime Minister the new program, which comes in the wake of the recently implemented structural reform, ADF Executive Director Armen Avak Avakyan said they had managed to complete the annual program during the first six months of this year.

Speaking about the indicators, he advised that AMD3.3 billion-worth export arrangements had been signed with the Fund’s assistance. The ADF is expected to co-finance four more international exhibitions this fall. Talks are underway regarding the signing of 20-25 agreements on the export of goods to the amount of 800-850 million drams.

The international business forums held in Abu Dhabi, Rome and Yerevan resulted in the signing of 15 specific export and investment agreements: 10 million euros will be invested in the production of high technologies, USD 2 million - in the production of medical equipment. Investments will also be made in energy and agriculture. Environmentally clean farm products are being exported from Armenia to the Arab countries. Efforts are underway to arrange the export of Armenian-make pharmaceuticals.

The heads of the Fund’s international cooperation, grant program, marketing, post-investment services and project coordination divisions briefed the Premier on the forthcoming programs based on individual sectors. Prime Minister Karapetyan prioritized the initiative to launch ambitious programs with clear indicators and specific results.
