Karen Karapetyan Receives Minister of Tourism of Lebanon Avetis Kitanyan
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received today Minister of Tourism of Lebanon Avetis Kitanyan.
The Prime Minister noted the importance of developing cooperation with friendly Lebanon not only in the field of tourism, but also in other sectors of the economy, specifically light industry, agriculture, information technologies and jewelry, which offer good prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Evoking the major economic and investment conference to be held in Yerevan next fall, Karen Karapetyan stressed the importance of participation of representatives of the Lebanese business community. He assured that the Armenian government is ready to objectively discuss any investment initiative for successful implementation.
Avetis Kitanyan noted with satisfaction that Lebanese tourists are quite interested in Armenia, and his Ministry is trying to double the number of tourist trips. The Lebanese Minister added that they had agreed with the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia on the implementation of a number of targeted projects that would promote partnership in the sphere of tourism.
Mr Kitanyan said the economic forum to be held in 2018 might provide a good opportunity to get acquainted with Armenia’s investment opportunities and expressed readiness to convey to the Lebanese side the initiatives of the Armenian government.
