RA Prime Minister, RF Minister of Health discuss healthcare cooperation development prospects




Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received RF Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova.

The head of the Armenian government described the cooperation between the healthcare departments of Armenia and Russia as going in tune with the logic of special relationship between the two countries.

Welcoming the 3rd Armenian-Russian Healthcare Conference, which started today in Yerevan, the Prime Minister touched upon the ongoing reform in Armenia’s health sector aimed at creating a modern, high quality and targeted healthcare system and the formation of a healthcare hub in the region.

Pleased with the proceedings of the 3rd Armenian-Russian Healthcare Conference, the Russian Minister noted that the agenda featured issues of mutual interest. As she said, the forum was a good platform to outline new vectors of cooperation in the field of healthcare.

As the meeting looked at ways of expanding cooperation, Karen Karapetyan pointed out that the implementation of both bilateral and multilateral programs in pharmaceuticals and healthcare business might be highly prospective.

In turn, Veronika Skvortsova said that either the Russian side is interested in the development of cooperation in the aforementioned areas and expressed readiness to discuss the steps to take ahead.

The interlocutors agreed on the need to visit each other more frequently that would help them to get a first-hand view of the ongoing healthcare reforms and the development trends in the two countries, the activities of medical institutions, as well as explore the opportunities to engage in healthcare business.
