Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has called a meeting of the organizing committee for the coordination of preparations for pan-Armenian events. Discussed was the program of the 2005 Pan-Armenian Games with the latter having become a tradition now. The program involves the fields of economy, health care, youth affairs, education, science, culture, sports etc.
It was noted that the preparations for the 1600th anniversary of the Mesropian alphabet were in progress already. The program for jubilee pan-Armenian events was outlined at the meeting of the Prime Minister-chaired government commission and relevant instructions were given to finalize it. In accordance with this program, "One Nation - One Culture" will be continued next year in the framework of which a musical festival referred to as "Reed-Pipe" will be held. Another key event will be the Second Pan-Armenian Olympiad of the Armenian Philology and Letters, History and Culture.
Pan-Armenian events for young people, too, will be organized in 2005. "Baze" youth and student festival will take its regular turn and the 3rd pan-Armenian youth conference will be held. The forum of the Armenian Jewellers Association, the 2nd IT conference, the first physicists symposium and the 5th congress of the Armenian dentists should be mentioned among the next year's key events. The program will be featuring numerous sporting events, including the holding of the Worldwide Congress of Pan-Armenian Games and a championship for male and female basket-ball teams.
It was also noted that the events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, too, will bear a nationwide character.
The members of the organizing committee prioritized the maintenance of permanent contacts with the participants of these events, in respect of consolidating Armenians from the Diaspora round the Armenian diplomatic missions and mobilising their efforts for the achievement of all-Armenian goals.
