Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received newly appointed UK Trade Commissioner in Armenia, Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom Mark Pritchard.
Congratulating Mr. Pritchard on his appointment, the Prime Minister noted that the Government of the Republic of Armenia has great hopes for his activities in terms of developing Armenian-British trade and economic relations. Karen Karapetyan underscored that there is great potential to increase trade turnover between the two countries, which is not fully used now. The Prime Minister noted that his government has made major reforms in the economy and other spheres and added that Armenia can offer favorable conditions to British capital for access to Eurasian and Iranian markets.
Thankful for the warm welcome, Marc Pritchard emphasized that the endorsement of his appointment by the British Prime Minister’s office confirms the British Government’s interest in boosting trade turnover and promote business contacts with Armenia. The UK Trade Commissioner said that his country wants to expand economic cooperation with our country and his goal is to achieve tangible results during his tenure.
The interlocutors took the opportunity to discuss the improvement of bilateral trade regimes, the possibility of starting Yerevan-London flights, the prospects for implementing joint projects in energy, road and water reservoir construction, tourism, healthcare, education and other sectors.
