Karen Karapetyan: Government keen to create such an environment as would allow young people to manifest their skills and participate in the development of the country
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan attended the World Economic Forum’s “Shape Eurasia-2017”conference, which is held under the motto “National Competitiveness: Form Your Advantage.”
Welcoming the participants of the conference, the Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the Global Shapers Center has grown into a well-established entity over the past five years of its operations in Yerevan and has the honor to host the conference participants.
“For over 47 years now, the World Economic Forum has built up this platform, which offers a propitious economic and business environment to discuss how to have a more prosperous and developing world. This is the platform where today’s agenda and such innovative trends as the fourth industrial revolution or the featured theme of the upcoming Davos 2018 forum are being developed. I believe you enjoy fantastic opportunities: all of you are young, full of energy; you have shaped your own self identity, and by meeting here you can exchange thoughts, experiences, strike new contacts, take a share in the development of today’s agendas and form the day of tomorrow,” Karen Karapetyan pointed out.
According to the Prime Minister, the Armenian government is keen to create such an environment as would allow young people to manifest their skills and participate in the development of the country.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Karapetyan hosted the participants of the conference in the Office of Government, answered their questions about the Armenian Diaspora, the current trends in the global economy, the challenges, Armenia’s reform vectors, and so on.
Thankful for the reception, the forum participants said to be highly appreciative of the assistance provided to the organizers of Shape Eurasia-2017. They awarded Karen Karapetyan the title of Global Shapers’ honorary member.
The Global Shapers Community’s goal is to unite young leaders around the world to improve the global situation. It is organized in the format of network centers, with the activities aimed at creating local impact programs. The Shapers community incorporates over 6800 young leaders from 170 countries around the world.
