Anticorruption Council holds meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, a meeting of the Anticorruption Council was held today in the Office of Government, attended by civil society representatives. The Council was presented the finalized programs for addressing/minimizing the corruption risks identified in the fields of healthcare and public revenue collection.
The independent expert panel experts reported that proceeding from the Prime Minister’s instruction issued at the Council’s previous meeting, all the programs were further discussed with the stakeholders with due consideration given to the proposals and recommendations.
It was noted that in the framework of Armenia’s 2015-2018 anticorruption strategy, 25 activities will be implemented in accordance with the program of identification and elimination/minimization of corruption risks in the health sector, with 19 measures to be implemented under the program of anticorruption actions in the field of public revenue collection.
A number of observations and proposals were voiced during the exchange of views on the agenda items. Following the discussions it was decided to approve the anticorruption programs in the aforementioned areas, as a whole, taking into consideration the recommendations.
