Karen Karapetyan Receives Iranian Deputy Oil Minister, Managing Director of National Gas Company Hamid Reza Araghi
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Iranian Deputy Oil Minister, Managing Director of National Gas Company Hamid Reza Araghi. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Seyed Kazem Sadjadi.
The parties discussed the process of fulfillment of the agreements reached during RA Prime Minister’s official visit to Iran in October this year. Reference was made to a number of economic cooperation-related issues.
Karen Karapetyan and Hamid Reza Araghi stressed the need for implementing mutually beneficial projects in the energy sector, commissioning the free economic zone of Meghri and establishing a joint export-import company.
Noting that Iran’s Armenia-bound exports have increased by 9% this year, the Premier said there is a lot of potential to increase this figure. Karen Karapetyan expressed confidence that the aforementioned programs will add momentum to the development and expansion of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
