Armenia, Artsakh Premiers Attend Consultation in Stepanakert
Today a consultation was held in Stepanakert, attended the heads of government of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. Welcoming the guests, AR State Minister Arayik Harutyunyan highlighted the given format of bilateral cooperation in terms of combining approaches in different spheres and improving the efficiency of State-administered programs.
Coming to the current status of Artsakh’s economy, the Artsakh State Minister underscored that as of the first 9 months of 2017, the country had managed an unprecedented growth of 16.5%. According to Arayik Harutyunyan, major projects have been initiated in different sectors to ensure the country’s sustained economic development over the coming years.
Thankful for the warm welcome, RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan mph tressed that every visit to Artsakh is inspiring. “The indicators of Artsakh’s economic development are very impressive. Our forecast is that this year either we will boast higher rates than expected, both in terms of economic growth, economic activity, foreign trade, exports and imports, and I think we will lay the groundwork for further development. The 2018 budget differs from that of 2017 due to the fact that proceeding from our capabilities, we have placed the main emphasis on building groundwork for sustainable economic growth,” the Prime Minister said.
Reminding that the Free Economic Zone in Meghri was inaugurated yesterday, Karen Karapetyan called on Artsakh’s businesses to get involved in that platform, considering it very promising. The Premier pointed out that the bilateral agenda with the Republic of Artsakh is quite serious and diversified, which covers a number of key spheres, including agriculture, territorial administration, healthcare and the digital agenda.
“Together with you, we must state that it is extremely important for us to ensure that all modern trends emerging in the system of global governance become a daily routine in Artsakh. It is a must,” Karen Karapetyan said.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia described as quite impressive Artsakh’s reforms and achievements in the energy sector, and went on to express confidence that Artsakh would become self-sufficient, a country exporting electricity.
In conclusion, RA and AR Healthcare Ministers Levon Altunyan and Karine Atayan signed a memorandum on introducing e-health in Artsakh.
