RA Prime Minister, Estonian Ambassador Discuss Development of Bilateral Economic Ties
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Armenia Kai Kaarelson.
The Premier thanked the Estonian side for supporting the process of signing the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the European Union and noted that our country will complete the ratification procedure as quickly as possible.
Coming to the further development and expansion of Armenian-Estonian relations, Karen Karapetyan emphasized that the issue was discussed in detail during the recent meeting with his Estonian counterpart in Davos.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for expanding bilateral economic cooperation, boosting trade turnover and, in this context, considered it necessary to organize business forums in an effort to tap the existing potential. Karen Karapetyan said Armenia could be attractive for Estonian businesses in terms of entering the EAEU and Iranian markets, given the preferential trade regimes available in our country.
Mindful of developing economic cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador Kaarelson expressed readiness to assist with the implementation of appropriate measures. He underscored that either Estonia is interested in the expansion and deepening of relations with Armenia.
The parties looked at the possibility of drawing upon Estonia’s experience while implementing Armenia’s digital agenda.
