Government Considers Further Steps for Developing Territorial Administration
Issues related to territorial administration were discussed during a PM-chaired consultation, which was held today in the Office of Government.
The meeting specifically discussed the draft government decisions “On approving the concept of territorial administration in Armenia,” “On the procedure to follow in assessing Marz Governors’ performance, and on establishing evaluation criteria.”
Prime Minister Karapetyan instructed the authorities concerned to finalize the drafts and put them into circulation.
“Ministries shall continue working with the Governors, based on their relevant policies and the problems faced at this stage. We do not mind setting 17 or 20 criteria instead of the proposed 14, if they comply with our standards,” Karen Karapetyan pointed out.
Reference was also made to the 2018 program of community enlargement.
