Armenian Prime Minister, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Hail Bilateral Political Dialogue
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan met with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on the margins of his official visit to Lebanon.
The Premier thanked the Speaker of Lebanese Parliament for cordial reception and conveyed warm greetings on behalf of RA National Assembly Speaker Ara Babloyan. Karen Karapetyan emphasized that the political relationship between Armenia and Lebanon continues to be friendly and brotherly, based on historical affinities and the contribution made by the Armenian community of Lebanon.
The head of the Armenian government underscored that the economic relations still fall short of the ongoing high-level political dialogue, and vigorous efforts need to be made in order to boost them. Karen Karapetyan presented the range of issues discussed during his talks with the Lebanese Prime Minister and the sectors that had been considered promising for the development of economic relations.
Karen Karapetyan thanked the Lebanese Parliament for recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide as early as in 2000.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation and active contacts, especially between friendship groups.
