Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received UAE State Minister
On May 3, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received UAE State Minister, Co-Chair of the UAE-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.
Welcoming the guest, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the further development of economic ties with the UAE is of great importance for Armenia. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed the hope that the current session of the intergovernmental commission would help the sides to develop new initiatives for mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
Thankful for the reception, the UAE State Minister presented the results expected from the events and meetings to be held during his visit. He noted that there are a number of promising areas in the Armenian economy which UAE businessmen are interested in. Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh stressed that the UAE government is ready to support the development of business ties between the two countries.
Both sides noted that Armenia and the UAE could become a bridge for each other for establishing and developing trade relations between the Gulf region and the EAEU-member countries respectively. Views were exchanged on the possibilities of cooperation between the EAEU and the UAE.
During the conversation, the parties touched on practical steps to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, urban development, banking and information technology. The UAE’s delegation’s attention was drawn to the attractive areas for investments in Armenia and Government’s steps to stimulate them.
Noting with satisfaction the recent growth in tourism, the interlocutors discussed possibilities for further development of the cooperation in this field.
