Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan Received UK Prime Minister’s Trade and Investment Envoy
On May 24 Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received UK Prime Minister’s Trade and Investment Envoy to Armenia, parliamentarian Mark Pritchard. The meeting was attended by UK Ambassador to Armenia Judith Farnworth was also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Tigran Avinyan said there is huge potential for developing trade and economic exchanges between Armenia and the United Kingdom. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the improved investment climate, as well as Armenia’s relations with international integration associations may provide good opportunities also for the growth of UK investments.
Thankful for the reception, Mark Pritchard briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the ongoing efforts aimed at deepening economic ties between Armenia and Great Britain. The parties hailed the programs implemented by the UK Good Governance Fund in Armenia.
In the context of the reforms aimed at the increasing efficiency of public administration in Armenia, interlocutors discussed in details the possibilities of cooperation.
At Mark Pritchard’s request, Tigran Avinyan presented the Armenian government’s efforts aimed at ensuring inclusive economic growth.
During the meeting, reference was made to the prerequisites for effective cooperation in the field of digitization, education-labor market relations, public services and other areas.
