Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan meets with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who has arrived in Tehran to attend a regular sitting of the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission, met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Iranian President for the warm welcome. Noting that Armenia and Iran boast deeply-rooted friendly ties and mutual trust, Mher Grigoryan expressed hope that they would be strengthened and expanded through joint efforts. He went on to advise that the Armenian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission’s meeting went off in a constructive atmosphere at which agreements were reached on expanding cooperation in a number of areas of mutual interest.
The interlocutors hailed the opportunities provided by the interim free trade zone agreement between the EAEU-member States and Iran, which is another incentive for the development of cooperation between Armenia and Iran.
Taking the opportunity, Mher Grigoryan and Hassan Rouhani exchanged views on energy cooperation.
