Tigran Avinyan, Georgian FM Davit Zalkaliani hold meeting in Tbilisi
On October 23, 2019, on the margins of the Tbilisi-hosted Silk Road Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan met with Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani.
The Georgian Foreign Minister thanked the Armenian side for high-level participation in the forum. In turn, Tigran Avinyan complimented Gorgia for successful holding of the conference.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia emphasized that the Armenian-Georgian relations had been overhauled to he highest possible level since independence and the development dynamics was fairly positive at this point. In this context, the parties highlighted Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia’s recent visit to Armenia, which was an important signal for stronger interaction.
Addressing cooperation between Armenia and Georgia in bilateral and multilateral formats, the interlocutors highlighted the need for regional stability, more vigorous trade and economic ties, humanitarian and cultural exchanges, as well as the provision of favorable conditions for tourism development, including the simplification of visa requirements.
