Tigran Avinyan Meets with Asian Development Bank Vice President
October 22, 2019, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan met with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President Shixin Chen on the margins of the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi.
Pleased with he ongoing mutual trust-driven effective cooperation, Tigran Avinyan noted that with a package of implemented programs worth over USD 1.5 billion, ADB is among Armenia’s important development partners. He noted that the Bank’s assistance is more tangible in terms of developing and modernizing our country’s economic infrastructures.
Shixin Chen stressed the need for the furtherance of cooperation with Armenia, based on the priorities reflected in the country’s partnership strategy. The strategy will be discussed by the ADB Governing Council in November this year.
Bearing in mind that the meeting was held within the framework of the Silk Road Forum, the interlocutors noted the importance of further deepening regional cooperation in the fields of transport and communications.
Issues related to public-private sector cooperation, infrastructure and human capital development, public administration reform and the development of a high-tech ecosystem were discussed during the meeting.
