Local Economy and Infrastructure Development Program Discussed in Government
On October 17, the Government hosted a meeting on the World Bank-supported Local Economy and Infrastructure Development program, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
During the meeting, the Committee on Tourism of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia presented the progress of the program. Issues related to the tourist zone of Garni, the creation of the museum of the historical capital of Armenia - Dvin and the improvement of adjacent territories, the formation of a tourist zone on the territory near the Zorats Karer monument, the restoration of the historical and architectural environment of the central part of Goris and the improvement of the right-bank part of the Vararak river were discussed.
Following the exchange of views, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the heads of relevant departments to submit proposals soonest possible in order to complement the projects discussed and create a comprehensive tourism product, as well as new projects for joint discussion.
