Meeting on Armenia’s energy security held in Government
On January 9, a meeting on the energy security of the Republic of Armenia was held in the Office of Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
Tigran Avinyan noted that the emerging regional challenges compel the authorities to assess and analyze the risks and threats that may arise in the energy system in order to identify ways of dealing with them. Issues related to energy self-sufficiency, increased power supply reliability, introducing new infrastructures, and ensuring sustained operations in the power network were discussed during the meeting.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, other government agencies outlined the potential development scenarios, the steps to take in each scenario and the sequence of actions.
In conclusion, the meeting participants emphasized that Armenia is prepared for any development scenario and the state can ensure energy system’s self-sufficiency and sovereign activities.
