Mher Grigoryan receives DEG Vice President
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation led by Irina Schmidt, Vice President at DEG, the German Investment and Development Company.
Welcoming the guests, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated DEG’s activities in Armenia. Mher Grigoryan noted that DEG’s involvement in the development of Armenia’s private sector is a major contribution in terms of introducing a modern business culture and increasing transparency in the economy.
Irina Schmidt briefed the Deputy Premier on their 15-year-long activities in Armenia, and the main vectors of DEG’s future efforts.
The interlocutors stressed the need to have a full-fledged capital market in Armenia, which in turn may promote domestic and foreign investments. Reference was made to the opportunities and prospects for implementing projects in the fields of energy saving and high technologies.
The Deputy Prime Minister said there are all necessary conditions available in Armenia for financial institutions’ effective functioning as evidenced by the latest macroeconomic indicators and the assessments issued by well-known international rating agencies.
