Eduard Aghajanyan briefed on Coronavirus control process
Chief of the Office of the Prime Minister Eduard Aghajanyan held a working discussion, attended by Artur Asoyan, Head of the Inspection Coordination Office of the Office of the Prime Minister, and Hakob Avagyan, Head of the Health and Labor Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia (HLI).
At the beginning of the meeting, Hakob Avagyan presented the process of enhanced surveillance activities aimed at preventing the penetration of coronavirus. The meeting went on to discuss the action plan for 2020 and the changes operated in 2019. The shortage of missing property was substantially reduced last year: necessary computer hardware and communication facilities were acquired. Direct communication with regional units and border control checkpoints has been established. Under a government decision, vehicles were provided to local and central units for immediate response.
1674 control measures were implemented by the HLI in 2019, with about 500 fines imposed, resulting in over AMD 28 million budget receipts. Issues related to inspections planned for 2020 were discussed during the meeting. The inspection authority was said to have published an annual plan of inspections in accordance with the established procedure and timeframe that will target those risky economic entities identified in accordance with the methodology approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The meeting next discussed the preparations aimed at expanding the inspection authority’s powers in the field of regulating labor law since July 2021 and its jurisdictional functions following the entry into force of the “anti-tobacco law.”
