Support for Electoral Process in Armenia Project Steering Committee Meets in Government
The Support for the Electoral Process in Armenia Project Steering Committee held its concluding session in the Office of Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
In attendance were donor community representatives, the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP representatives who have assisted the Government under the Support for the Electoral Process in Armenia Project.
The meeting started with greeting remarks delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp and Deputy UNDP Resident Representative Mihaela Stojkoska.
Expressing gratitude to donor countries’ representatives for attending the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said these sessions and meetings promote joint efforts aimed at improving electoral processes in our country.
UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp stated that the joint efforts helped hold transparent elections in Armenia in 2018, while Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan stressed the importance of the Project and presented the main results and achievements.
During the session, the representatives of the UNDP presented the results of the 2019 Support to the Electoral Process in Armenia Project and outlined the Project’s upcoming stages scheduled for this year.
