The Council for the Fight against Human Trafficking and Exploitation Holds Regular Session
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan chaired a regular session of the Council for the Fight against Human Trafficking and Exploitation.
Welcoming the participants, the Deputy Premier appreciated the Council’s activities and considered the meeting a good opportunity to outline the actions to be carried out in 2020.
The meeting went on to discuss the draft national program for organizing the fight against human trafficking and exploitation in 2020-2023, which was introduced by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Gemafin Gasparyan. The draft provides for preventive action and assistance. A special emphasis is placed on the prevention of instances of child trafficking and exploitation.
The Council members exchanged views on the key targets, the emerging challenges and came up with specific solutions for existing problems. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stressed the importance of setting clear-cut strategic goals in order to achieve tangible results in the fight against human trafficking and exploitation.
