Mher Grigoryan Receives EU Representatives
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received Director for Neighborhood East at DG NEAR in the European Commission Lawrence Meredith and Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service Luke Devine.
Greeting the guests, the Deputy Prime Minister attached importance to the ongoing cooperation with the European Union and touched upon the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Mher Grigoryan presented the activities of the interdepartmental commission under his supervision. He spoke with satisfaction about the implementation stage following the approval of the Roadmap.
The Deputy Premier highlighted the achievements in bilateral cooperation, emphasizing that the documents drafted as part of the 2019 Action Plan are being finalized, and the primary areas of the 2020 Action Plan have already been agreed upon.
Thankful for the reception, Lawrence Meredith and Luke Devine emphasized that the EU will continue to provide hands-on assistance to the Government’s reforms. Luke Devine was pleased to highlight the fruitful work done by government officials in coordinating the joint efforts with the EU. Lawrence Meredith stated that the EU is prepared to assist the Government with the ongoing judiciary, educational and high-tech reforms, as well as to help identify the country’s economic potential.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the development of human capital in Armenia.
