Public Administration Reform Strategy Development Council Holds Regular Meeting

A regular meeting of the Public Administration Reform Strategy Development Council was held on March 10, 2020.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister stated:
“Dear colleagues,

Today we are holding the second meeting of the Council for the development of a strategy for public administration reform. The problems faced in the field of public administration have led to a situation where the governance system cannot function efficiently and cannot provide adequate and quality services to the population.

I can confidently state that those reforms, which today and over the next two months should be examined by the Council and put up for public discussion, will provide the system of public administration with effective capabilities, tools and mechanisms to fulfill its mission.

In general, our mission is as follows: to provide high-quality services to our citizens through effective solutions aimed at ensuring sustained economic development, overall welfare and progress in the Republic of Armenia.

Please note that the drafts of three sections of the strategy and the relevant action plan are still under development. Therefore, today’s discussion will be a great contribution to this process, as well as in terms of performance indicators.

In conclusion, I would like to thank all those public servants who participated in the working groups, and of course all those government officials and experts who attended the interviews.”

The vision of the public administration reform strategy and the agenda of the first stage of reforms were discussed during the meeting.
