Discussion Held with University Rectors

Given the state of emergency declared in the Republic of Armenia, a meeting with the rectors of universities was held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport to discuss organizational issues related to the academic process.

Chaired by Deputy Minister Grisha Tamrazyan, the meeting explored universities’ capabilities and the problems faced in organizing distance learning in the country.

Based on the specifics of universities, the rectors presented their proposals and approaches to the organization of the educational process. Other options for replenishing the hours planned by the curriculum were also discussed, including options for working on a tightened program, creating a unified electronic platform with video lectures, organizing theoretical training by e-mail, etc.

Thus, as a result of the discussion, guided by paragraph 1.8 of the Charter of the NGO “Council of Rectors of State Higher Educational Institutions” and taking as the basis the meeting of the general meeting of the NGO “Council of Rectors of State Higher Educational Institutions” dated March 16, 2020, it was decided:
