Activities to be implemented by the Armenian Red Cross Society during the state of emergency

In its capacity of a structure supporting the Government in humanitarian affairs and the largest volunteer organization, strong with representative offices in all regions and numerous communities of Armenia, the Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS) has always stood by the government and the population of the Republic of Armenia.

During the state of emergency declared in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, the ARCS will provide the following services:
1. The centers of social and psychological assistance of the Armenian Red Cross Society in cooperation with the Ministry of Healthcare of Armenia will work in emergency mode (addresses: Yerevan: Paronyan 21/1; Isahakyan 28, e-mail: pss@redcross.am; Gavar: Central Square, House of Culture N52, gegharkunikrb@redcross.am; Dilijan: Myasnikyan 53, House of Culture, tavushrb@redcross.am), where ARCS psychologists will provide coordination, registration and orientation services for volunteers.

2. Considering that single elderly people and people with disabilities are more vulnerable to infection, the Armenian Red Cross Society has mobilized all its volunteer potential to help single elderly people and people with disabilities in everyday matters, including shopping, to limit their scope contacts.

3. The ARCS volunteers will contact online citizens in isolation in Tsaghkadzor and Dilijan to find out their needs and pass on information to responsible areas.

4. All ARCS care services will continue to operate just as they did before.

5. The list of translators of the Armenian Red Cross Society will be handed over to the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia so that foreigners calling the ministry hotlines could be redirected to the Armenian Red Cross Society and have access to information in their own language.

6. The Volunteers will hand out leaflets in public places throughout the country (transport stops, grocery stores and pharmacies, underpasses).

7. The ARCS volunteers will distribute information materials and videos on online platforms.
