Kitchen of Mercy Program Beneficiaries to Get 20-Day Food Packages

In order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Kitchen of Mercy program will suspend beneficiary services until April 14.

20-day food packages shall be made available to program beneficiaries through staff and volunteers under the program starting this Monday. The initiative is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

The Kitchen of Mercy program was launched as early as in 1994. Under the program, every year from October to May, single pensioners, disabled persons, children without parental care and other vulnerable groups are provided with hot food once a day, as well as New Year and Christmas food packages.

There are some 500 program beneficiaries nationwide, including Kanaker-Zeytun, Kentron, Erebuni and Nork-Marash districts in Yerevan.
