Commandant’s Office Holds Regular Meeting
The Commandant’s Office held a regular meeting on March 24, chaired by State of Emergency Commandant, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
Addressing those present, Tigran Avinyan said:
“Today we will discuss restrictions on certain types of economic activity as the Prime Minister stated yesterday. After discussing the issue, a finalized list of restrictions will be made public today.
I would like to inform that only primary necessity services, stores and pharmacies should operate during 7 days. I would also like to inform that overall, our actions until this phase have been effective and the purpose of shifting to a stricter 7-day regime is to continue maintaining control and continue developing the toolbox that will enable us to discover and prevent the chains of the virus.
I also want to inform you that movement restrictions will be introduced for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia in a bid to enforce the regime of self-isolation as much as possible for seven days.
For this reason, after the publication of the list, we will introduce new mechanisms that will allow us to limit the movement of citizens of Armenia to the extent possible and appeal to our citizens to remain in self-isolation, so that we have time to modernize our toolkit and continue to fight effectively against the threats coming from the coronavirus.”
The meeting discussed the temporary ban applicable to specific types of business activity and preventive action.
