In attendance were Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin and several representatives from the European Commission.

Greeting the European partners, Mher Grigoryan highly valued the assistance provided by the EU at this challenging period and thanked them for effective cooperation.

CEPA implementation issues were discussed during the online meeting. Reference was made to Armenia’s participation in the forthcoming videoconference of EaP leaders. The two main activities under the 2020 annual action plan were discussed – support for the ongoing judiciary reform and COVID-19 Resilience Contract aimed at supporting the Government in the fight against the pandemic. The EU side stressed that the programs will be finalized in a month.

Lawrence Meredith reassured of EU support to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and continued support to the reform process, including in the context of 2020 programming. He thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for comprehensive work and constructive cooperation. He went on to inform that the EaP leaders’ meeting is expected to discuss the five long-term policy objectives proposed in the Joint Communication on the future of the Eastern Partnership as issued on March 18, 2020.

The parties briefed each other on the ongoing measures in the fight against the pandemic and discussed the problems that different countries are facing due to the spread of COVID-19.
