U.S.-Armenia Strategic Dialogue (USASD) Holds Online Consultation on Multi-Sectoral Cooperation
The U.S.-Armenia Strategic Dialogue (USASD) held an online consultation on multidisciplinary cooperation, co-chaired by Sedrak Barseghyan, Chief of Staff of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matt Murray. Reference was made to cooperation possibilities and development prospects in the fields of economy, energy, and high-tech industry.
Introducing the Armenian government’s priorities, Sedrak Barseghyan highlighted the per-sector strategies and the Armenia Transformation Strategy for 2020-2050. He thanked the United States for continued and enhanced emergency assistance, which is aimed at overcoming the pandemic’s consequences in all affected areas.
Representatives of the RA Ministries of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Economy and High-Tech Industry delivered remarks during the meeting. U.S. Co-Chair Matt Murray congratulated the Armenian side on the occasion of the Independence Day of September 21 and went on to report on the status of bilateral trade and economic relations. In this context, he stressed the need to promote women’s social standing in Armenia.
USAID Deputy Assistant Director Alexander Sokolovsky presented USAID Armenia programs and discussed cooperation prospects with government officials.
Summing up the meeting, the Armenian and American sides appreciated the consultations held in this format, emphasizing their effectiveness in terms of developing bilateral relations.
